What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser, for example to remember a choice or to count visits for statistics. Local storage in the browser works the same way.
Necessary storage
We only store the choice you make about statistics cookies, in your browser, so we do not have to ask you on every visit. That does not require consent.
Only if you open the contact form does Cloudflare Turnstile load, which protects the form against spam and may use cookies or technical information on Cloudflare’s domain.
| Name | What it does | Duration | Provided by |
|---|---|---|---|
| nk-consent | Remembers your choice about statistics cookies and the consent ID (local storage in the browser) | 6 months, then we ask again | Nordlyskart |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Spam check in the contact form | The session | Cloudflare, Inc. |
Statistics cookies (only with consent)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are most useful. The cookies are set only if you press “Yes please” in the banner. Before you have chosen, and if you say no, Google Analytics does not load at all and nothing is sent to Google. We do not use the information for advertising.
| Name | What it does | Duration | Provided by |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Recognises the browser with a random identifier | 2 years | Google LLC |
| _ga_<ID> | Remembers the state of the session | 2 years | Google LLC |
You can change your choice at any time:

Your choice and the consent log
To be able to document consent, as GDPR article 7 requires, we store each choice you make in the banner: a random code (the same as above), the choice, how you made it (“Yes please”, “No thanks” or the X), the banner version, the page and the date and time. We do not store names, e-mail addresses or IP addresses. The log is kept for 2 years and then deleted automatically.
We ask you again after 6 months, or sooner if the cookies we use change significantly.
How to block cookies
You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser’s settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
For Google Analytics it is enough to say no in the banner, close it with the X or use “Cookie settings” at the foot of every page. You can also use Google’s opt-out add-on. The site works as usual either way.
